Female Voice :: A Hallmark of a Remarkable Woman

Body:

Do you know a remarkable woman?

She embodies and exemplifies idealism, courage and valor; demands what’s intended for the highest purpose - the greater good.

They rally us to gather and work in communion – they give us hope, unite us and shore us up.

Much more than self-righteous or self- sacrificial, they are Souls that are driven by concepts of fairness and justice; understanding the world may be unjust, but willing to do the work to create the inverse by any means necessary.

Warrior like Spirits: willing to show up and respond to their calling. They shoulder us, they soldier on.

These heroines are writers, activists and change makers.

Women who give voice to and stand for the un-just, oppressed and marginalized.

This is a short list of a large collective, who have inspired me. {In no particular order}

Anita Hill

Billy Jean King - loved spending the day with her.

Crystal Lee Sutton - “aka” Norma Rae

Aung San Suu Kyi

Veronica Guerin

The Mirabal Sisters

Oprah Winfrey

Gloria Steinem

The mark of a Phoenix serves as reminder that in our own unique way we are “the parts in the sum of the whole” with no voice too small.

While you or I may not possess a fraction of their courage, I know like many others I’ll continue to do my part.

Visit Tara Noelani Correll + See No Color and share your stories about the remarkable woman you know.

For all my sisters that have done the heavy lifting: Thank you for your courage + encouragement.
